What's Next For Former USFL Generals QB De'Andre Johnson?

De’Andre Johnson stands in the crowded rooms of free agent quarterbacks and players who are left teamless after the USFL-XFL merger.

Johnson spent the last two years with the USFL New Jersey Generals, being used mainly in a wildcat QB style despite being QB1. In 17 games Johnson completed 127 of his 203 passes for 1,712 yards, posting a 6-4 TD-INT ratio. The JUCO product also rushed for 671 yards off of 120 attempts.

De’Andre Johnson hit free agency at the end of the 2023 USFL season, but the dismantling of the Generals wiped away the chances of him going back for a third season. The 27-year-old has limited options now due to there being only 8 teams in the newly created United Football League.

The only known recent interest that Johnson has received from the NFL was in July of 2023 with the Browns and Texans.

The former 12th round pick has been quiet since the 2023 USFL championship, there haven't been any posts or articles in regards to him or his career.
