Ebbets Field Comes Back To Life In Avengers: Doomsday

Ebbets Field was demolished in February of 1960, after giving New York fans baseball and football for nearly five decades dating back to 1913.

Still to this day Ebbets Field, infamous for being the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers, still has its name showcased in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn where it once stood – sadly though it is apartments that stand, not bleachers around a diamond.
The Ebbets Field Apartments was the largest state-subsidized housing complex in New York at the time of its construction in the 1960s. A small plaque resides on the apartment grounds, reading, “This is the former site of Ebbets Field”.
Despite the historic ballpark being gone now for 66-years, it does still live on – that is in the Marvel cinematic universe I’m talking about.
A recent Avengers: Doomsday promotional trailer with Major League Baseball opens up in an on Earth 828, an alternate timeline from our present world. The opening shot showcases Ebbets Field in a much more futuristic style as flying cars roar by. A banner could be seen on Ebbets Field sporting it as home of the Brooklyn Dodgers, which means the Dodgers never relocated to Los Angeles, California, in 1957.

Overall, it appears in the 828 world, the original architecture of Ebbets Field remains, with a more modern stadium built above and around it. Outside the stadium are several bronze statues towering above patrons attending games (although it’s unknown who the players are).
Earth 828 is home to the Fantastic Four, most recently shown in Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Fantastic Four occurs in the mid-1960s on Earth 828, with the post-credit scene being four years later sometime in 1970. Ebbets Field also has a banner that reads, “Fantastic Four Day” signaling some type of promotional event for a game. The trailer showcases today’s modern baseball stars Bryce Harper, Freddie Freeman, Jacob Misiorowski, Junior Caminero and Randy Arozarena.
Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, is shown inside Ebbets Field on the baseball diamond with a Brooklyn Dodgers “B” hat whilst wearing a blue Fantastic Four turtleneck before tossing out the ceremonial first pitch. The camera then changes to Ben Grimm (The Thing) playfully scaring a bunch of little league players, who are all standing in front of New York Giant players.
The New York Giants played in New York from 1883 before relocating post-1957 to California, becoming the San Francisco Giants. This means that in Earth 828 the Giants also never left New York, although the Yankees are not shown it is very likely the Bronx Bombers exist in this world, giving New York three Major League teams (Yankees, Dodgers, Giants).
More than likely there are no New York Mets (created in 1962) as the team was established to replace the gaping hole left by the Brooklyn Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. The New York Mets have previously been shown in the Marvel cinematic universe with a decrepit Citi Field in Avengers: End Game after Thanos snapped his fingers, removing half of the entire world’s population on Earth 616.

Earth 616 is where the main Marvel cinematic universe takes place and is supposed to represent our universe.
Avengers: Doomsday releases in theaters on December 18th, 2026.
