Newtown High school wins first state title since 1992. In the final seconds of play Newtown Quarterback Jack Street threw a pass to senior Wide Receiver Riley Ward for 36 yards to beat Darien in a 13-7 win. That pass will have Newtown winning the Class LL Connecticut State Title with a perfect season, going 13-0. This win also comes on the 7th Anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting where 26 children and educators were murdered.
