Anthony Volpe Has Been An Offensive Light Since Being Recalled
Anthony Volpe has already made his new mark in 7 games back in the Majors. Coming up after Jazz Chisholm hit the 10-day injured list with a right thumb sprain, Volpe had the opportunity to prove that he belongs in the Pinstripes lineup.
In 7 games back, Volpe is slashing .348/.400.565 with a .965 OPS and has only struck out once across the 25 plate appearance stretch. Volpe is 8-for-23 with 2 doubles and a home run, while he has also swiped 4 bases too, which is the highest in a month for Volpe since May. The 25-year-old has taken the helm of the Yankees offense since his recall from Triple-AAA Scranton, giving New York a solid addition with Chisholm out.
September 17th, 2026, marks three years of MLB service time for Volpe, who has a 9.7 career WAR. Overall, Volpe’s total stat line for 2026 features a batting average of .253, which is higher than his career .226 line. Offense in 2026 hasn’t been an issue for Volpe compared to his defense, and since returning Volpe has been one of the most solid blockade in New York’s infield between Ben Rice and George Lombard Jr.
