From West Haven to PlayStaton

As of September 2026, there has only been four podcasts to sponsor a car in NASCAR’s top three series (Cup, O’Reilly and Truck) throughout the sports' entire history, for the New York Sports Show and West Haven native Dominic Konareski he is one of the four.

Earlier in 2026 the New York Sports Show sponsored Chad Finchum’s Garage 66 entry in the Bowman Gray Cookout Clash, and would later sponsor Finchum again just several weeks later when he raced for Joey Gase Motorsports at EchoPark for the Bennett 250.

Dominic Konareski, 22, of West Haven, Connecticut, has his sports media and broadcasting company New York Sports Show based out of West Haven. A graduate of West Haven High School as part of the 2023 Class, Konareski originally created his New York Sports Show podcast on YouTube in 2018 while he was attending Bailey Middle School. Since the creation in 2018, the New York Sports Show has grown to be one of the largest YouTube channels / podcasts in the state of Connecticut with a current following of over 77,000 and a total viewership that recently exceeded 300 million.

Sponsoring Chad Finchum’s Cup and O’Reilly Series cars gave Dominic Konareski and his New York Sports Show a milestone that only a few can claim: Having their brand on a NASCAR stock car.

On Tuesday, September 15th, NASCAR 26 officially released for PS5, Xbox X/S and PC, with Chad Finchum’s New York Sports Show car being a playable paint scheme in the O’Reilly Series. NASCAR 26 is an officially licensed NASCAR video game brought to games across the world by iRacing developers.

For Konareski, the significance extends beyond simply placing a logo on a race car. “This is bigger than just being on a car or in a video game. “This is the product of countless hours spent every day working towards a dream and being determined for success,” said Konareski, who spends roughly 9-12 hours a day on his New York Sports Show.

"It's a very surreal feeling seeing my logo on a real-life NASCAR stock car, now I load up the video game and get to race as the car itself," said Dominic who also stated that it's an honor to be featured into the game and is truly thankful to God.

"When I first met Chad (Finchum) I had a feeling that our partnership was going to extend past the Clash so when he gave me a call that he had a possible ride for EchoPark, I said 'count me in' right away. I didn't know at the time that the paint scheme would make the video game when I said yes to sponsoring Chad so this is a really nice way to make it last forever."

Konareski did say that he as already played as Chad Finchum's New York Sports Show car.

The New York Sports Show was built as and still is an independent sports media platform that covers every major New York sports team, along with local West Haven high school sports and historical West Haven sporting moments, venues and players. With the New York Sports Show being showcased in NASCAR 26, it gives all gamers the exposure not only to the podcast, but also an opportunity to see West Haven sports as well.

This achievement gives West Haven a unique connection to the project, as a sports-media brand founded and operated in the city has its branding forever a part of one of America’s most recognizable motorsports series and video game industry.

“I love West Haven, I feel privileged in a way that I get to live in such a historic city and I hope that through being in the game it will lead more people to learn more about West Haven athletics and its sporting history,” said Konareski.

Sponsoring the NASCAR stock cars earlier in the year and now being in NASCAR 26 illustrates the accomplishment of how a modern sports-media company continues to evolve.

The New York Sports Show uploads daily content in both article and video form with its podcast-style programming, as well with social media postings across various apps.

From West Haven to NASCAR, and now to a video game. The New York Sports Show is officially part of West Haven history and NASCAR history.
