It was announced on Tuesday, October 11th, that the minor league team has signed a 62-year old righty to the pitching staff. The player under the name Alfred Yankovic, was signed as a undrafted free agent and will wear the No.27 jersey.
Of course it is a joke as 'Weird Al' Yankovic is a popular comedian with numerous parody music videos. It was not said why the team made the posts on their social media accounts, but it is guessed that Yankovic may make an appearance during the 2023 Marlins' spring training schedule.
