It was confirmed early Thursday that rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart will play in this Saturday’s  preseason game against the Buffalo Bills.

Dart, a first-rounder choice by the Giants, has excelled in training camp and overall preseason activities. Nonetheless, Big Blue is taking it safe with Dart and giving him time to develop into the eventual franchise QB they drafted him to be.

Currently Dart resides as the third on the Giants depth chart behind Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Wilson is trying to recement himself back as a starter after a rough go the past several seasons as Winston is a high-quality backup who could also play the role as a solid starter if need be.

Dart is not the guaranteed starter in the first preseason game as fans may see Wilson out for the first one or two drives. Bills are sidelining Josh Allen, who has been M.I.A in at least one preseason contest since 2022.
