On Monday the New York Giants signed veteran quarterback Brandon Allen.

Allen, a former sixth rounder in 2016, is the definition of a journeyman – spending time with the Rams, Broncos, Bengals, 49ers and Titans after originally being selected by the Jaguars.

Allen has passed for 1,882 yards and 11 touchdowns in 19 games, where he has also tossed 9 interceptions in that span. The 33-year-old joins an already set QB room in New York, with Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston locked in as the first and second options.

Allen appeared in a lone game last season for the Titans, going 17-for-30 passing with 72 yards and an interception.

Quarterback depth is critical for the Giants due to Dart’s injury history from last season that was highlighted by a concussion that would cost him two games.
