The MetLife Stadium turf has sucked the life out of another player’s ACL. Malik Nabers suffered a non-contact leg injury during Sunday’s game against the Chargers. Nabers quickly fell to the turf that did him harm, yelling in pain and was eventually carted off the field.
As of September 2025, at least 15 players have suffered a season-ending injury by way of a torn ACL or Achilles whilst playing on the MetLife turf since 2020.
It was announced Monday that the Giants wideout suffered a season-ending torn ACL. Sunday’s win now has clouds over it as Big Blue loses their star WR1 for the remaining 13-games.
Nabers, who was in the midst of his second-year with the team, had 271 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns this season. The LSU product had over 1,200 receiving yards during his rookie campaign, which saw the New York Giants use four different quarterbacks.
The winning starting debut of Jaxson Dart does mark hope for the Giants this season, as the team will likely review potential short-term trade options for WR depth.
