Bo Bichette has had a very underwhelming beginning to his career as a New York Met that has met him to a flurry of loud boos from the Queens team fanbase. Bichette is 1-for-14 with eight strikeouts, but then again he also has only played three games.

The Mets go into the fourth game of the season with a 2-1 record, as they will face the Cardinals (2-1) for what is a three game series on the road.

Bichette’s beginning of the season slump should have been expected to some degree considering he went from an AL to NL team. Three games is such a small sample size. Has he produced very poor quality at-bats? Yes, yes he has. Frankly though, all the booing is just simply uncalled for considering this campaign is only three games into a 162 game season.

Bichette’s lone hit through this early slump has come with an RBI notched to his name. Overall, his 1-for-14 effort has given him a .071 average.

2025 featured a 3.5 WAR season with 181 hits and a .311 average and .840 OPS. Career numbers have Bo at 111 home runs, 438 RBIs and an .803 OPS, with a 20.9 WAR.

Fact is at the end of the day the Mets have an absolute beast in Bichette, who is coming off of a near 200-hit season despite only appearing in 139 games. Bo is going to come around, and when he does that “Bo knows” and “Bo knows baseball” in New York will be seen all over social media.
