Blue Devils Get Third Win Of Season; First Time Since 2019 CTHS Football Season

For the first time since the 2018 season the West Haven Blue Devils Varsity Football team are winners of three games as they sport a 3-1 record going into their bye week. The Blue Devils had a very depressing 2-8 season in 2019 and did not play last year in 2020 due to the CIAC restrictions. The team has been led by 2nd-string rookie Quarterback Nick Conlon after starting QB Preston Denno was injured in week 2. Denno still plays, but mainly as a Running Back with a chance of coming back as QB1 around week 7. Conlon has led West Haven to several huge statement wins as the team’s only loss came in a week 2 overtime finish vs Hamden. With six more games left and a fairly easy schedule ahead of them the Blue Devils could easily form to be a top contender and make the playoffs.

The Blue Devils play their first game back on the 15th against Foran at home on the field of the historic Ken Strong Stadium. The Devils have 3 key games to play out of the 6 remaining that will most likely decide their fate, those games are against Notre Dame-West Haven, Cheshire and Fairfield Prep (Weeks 8,9 & 11.) Depending how the upcoming weeks go and based off of franchise history, the Blue Devils can go 8-2 or even 9-1 when the season ends.
