The Pressure Is On For All Three New York NHL Teams In 2021/22
Updated: May 17
The 2021/22 NHL season is just months away and it may just very well be the biggest season for the New York teams. Currently the big apple is home to three professional NHL teams, those being the New York Islanders, New York Rangers and the Buffalo Sabres. Last season we saw the Islanders be the true standout team being just games away from the Stanley Cup Finals. The New York Rangers started off their season strong but collapsed mid season followed by inconsistent play for the backend of ‘21. The Buffalo Sabres now hold one of the longest losing streaks in NHL history as they had nothing going at any point in 2021, they were true L7 weenies.
Now going into the 2021/22 season there is a lot to expect as the pressure is fully on all three teams.
The New York Islanders have gone deep into playoff hockey the past several seasons, but still fail to win it all. The New York Rangers have had up and downs seasons with no true route of direction. The Buffalo Sabres are falling deeper and deeper into a depression like state as they constantly fail to have winning seasons.
It will be very interesting to see how all three teams handle 2021 and beyond. The fans want more, the question is can they produce? Well we’ll just have to wait and see.
