As we approach the 2026/27 NFL season, I took a look back on the overall records since 2021 to see how New York football has been. Although I expected the Jets and Giants to be close to the bottom with Buffalo being the outlier, I still ended up being shocked with what I found.

The New York Jets have struggled heavily for the past 15 years on a consistent basis, and the 2020s have especially been ugly for New York Jets football. The Jets own sole possession of the worst record in the entire league. At 26-59 since 2021, the Jets have been literally the worst team and this comes in an era where future hall of fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers was under center for an entire season too.

The whole Jets v. Giants rivalry has always been big and still is, but in this case New York Giant fans don’t have much bragging rights as they are right above the Jets at 31/32. The Giants have the same amount of wins as the Jets, but the 20-20 tied game against Washington on December 4th, 2022, was the ultimate decider. The New York Giants are 26-58-1 since 2021, but they do have a playoff appearance and win in this span – unlike the other MetLife Stadium team.

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Bills are atop of the entire NFL. The only actual team based in New York state has truly represented with a 60-24 record. As great as those 60-wins are though and numerous AFC East divisional titles, Buffalo has still continued to struggle in the playoffs. Those 60-wins showcase regular season dominance, but the Bills have zero AFC Championship titles and zero Super Bowl appearances in this span.

Nonetheless, we have learned one thing: The Buffalo Bills dominate football, but fade out when the lights get bright as the Giants and Jets have been very consistent at being bad.
