New York Rangers Hire Newly Retired Goalie
From playing for the Rangers in 2025/26 to now having a desk at MSG in 2026/27. Earlier this week the New York Rangers hired Jonathan Quick as director of goaltending development.
Quick announced his retirement from the NHL at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season at the age of 40.
A three-time Stanley Cup champion, Quick is destined for the hall of fame. Appearing in 829 career games, Quick posted a 410-309-90 record with a .910 save percentage and 65 shutouts. The Connecticut native spent the final three seasons of his career close to home playing for the Rangers in New York.
As a New York Ranger in a primary back-up role, Quick started in 70 games for New York and appeared in 76 games total. As a starter, Quick posted a 35-30-6 record with a 2.94 GAA and a .899 save percentage, while also recording the final 7 shutouts of his career.
