The New York Yankees and the New York Mets have given New York another championship less season after many highs just to fall to the lowest of lows. The New York Mets led the National league East for over 81 games and went into the all-star break with one of the larger leads in the division. Shortly after the break the Mets had nothing but blown saves and injuries as the biggest hit was losing ace Jacob deGrom who has having a CY Young season. The Mets would finish below .500% with a 77-85 record, 11-games out of p1 held by the Atlanta Braves.
The New York Yankees were expected to win 105-games or more but due to incompetent coaching and managing along with COVID knocking out several key players sometimes even multiple times this season. The Yankees went on winning many games in a row with their longest winning streak lasting 13-games, nearing the end of the season the team would fall apart as the pitching was solid, but the hitting was not there when the team needed it. The Yankees would finish 3rd in the American League East 92-70 (.568 wp%) as they would get an AL Wild Card spot. The Yankees would lose to the Boston Red Sox in the ALWC, ending their season.
