The Mets top prospects are now just one promotion away from The Show. Early Monday morning, the New York Mets promoted their No.1, No.2, No.3 and No.6 prospects to Triple-AAA Syracuse.
INF/CF Jett Williams (No.1), SP Jonah Tong (No.2), OF Carson Benge (No.3) and 1B Ryan Clifford (No.6) are all going to get a taste of Class AAA action before season’s end.
21-year-old Jett Williams has flirted with a .300 batting average all season long in Double-AA, posting a .281 average in 96 games. Williams, the Mets first-round selection in 2022, has swiped 32 bases and has drawn 62 walks.
An 8-5 record for Jonah Tong has seen the Canadian born right-hander fan batter after batter with his 162:44 K:BB ratio in 102 innings. Tong has pitched to the tune of a 1.59 ERA in 20 starts this season and has a 0.922 WHIP upon his call to upstate New York.
Splitting 2025 between High-A and Double-AA, Carson Benge has an overall season batting average of .308 with a .926 OPS in 92 games. Benge averages less than a strikeout-per-game and has driven in 60 runs, while also drawing 59 walks.
Ryan Clifford was originally drafted in the 11th round of the 2022 Draft by the Astros before finding himself playing for the Mets organization. Clifford has over a strikeout-per-game in 105 games this season and batting splits of .243 / .355 / .493 for an .848 OPS.
