If I had a nickel for every time a New York superstar broke a toe at Dodger Stadium, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird it happened twice in the last three years.
First it was Aaron Judge in June of 2023, now it is Mets’ star Francisco Lindor in June of 2025.
Aaron Judge missed 42 games after tearing a ligament in his right big toe after colliding with the bullpen gate in right field.

Francisco Lindor was hit by a pitch last night, but stayed in the remainder of the game enroute to a Mets win. It was later found out post game that the Mets shortstop broke his pinky toe.
Lindor is out of New York’s lineup Thursday, but does plan to play through the injury, considering himself as “day by day.” More than likely once he re-enters the Mets lineup it would be in a DH position to limit his time on the field for at least the beginning part of his recovery.
Filling in at SS for the Mets in their series finale against the Dodgers is right-hander Luisangel Acuna, who has put up a fielding percentage above .990 along with a batting average of .246 in 53 games this season. The 23-year-old Acuna has a positive WAR of 0.4 this season.
New York (39-23), currently lead the NL East with a 1.5 game cushion over Philadelphia. They will begin a three-game road series against the Rockies starting tomorrow.
