Quigley Stadium's Future Remains in Doubt Despite League Response

Several weeks ago the New York Sports Show got a creditable source citing that the future of Quigley Stadium is up in the air involving the West Haven Twilight League.
The source told the New York Sports Show that the West Haven Twilight League will no longer play at Quigley Stadium past the 2026 season, and will rebrand to the Southern Connecticut Twilight League for 2027 and beyond.
Already this season the West Haven Twilight League has branched off from playing exclusively at Quigley Stadium in 2026. The league is playing games at Rochford Field (Hamden) and Brinley Field (Orange), along with the playoffs being played at West Haven High School. Out of the 81 games being played in 2026 by the Twilight League (including ASG and playoffs), only 19 games, or 23.46% are being played at Quigley Stadium.
Quigley Stadium hosted their last scheduled game of 2026 on June 29th, for the league’s All-Star game. Since the All-Star game, the league’s final 39 games have been or are scheduled to be played at different fields.
New York Sports Show reached out to both the West Haven Twilight League and West Haven Mayor Dorinda Borer separately on this possible rebranding and forgoing on Quigley Stadium.
A representative from the West Haven Twilight League told the NYSS that there are no current plans of relocation or rebranding, saying that playing at the separate locations allow for “schedule flexibility.” The Twilight League representative also said the league’s relationship with the city of West Haven is “great” when asked the status.
Mayor Borer did not comment on the matter after multiple attempts to contact.
The Twilight League's response does calm any near-future speculation for now that the league may leave the stadium and the city in its entirety. Nonetheless though, Quigley Stadium is seeing less and less games and usage as it just became 79-years-old.
The West Haven Twilight League is the only active tenant that uses Quigley Stadium. The stadium was constructed in 1947 and sold to the city of West Haven in 1951, which currently still holds ownership. Fast forward to 2026, and Quigley Stadium sits in decay with constant rumors of being sold or demoed surrounding the once popular Connecticut ballpark.
