The New York Islanders announced Wednesday official changes to their minor league affiliates.

The Islanders have reached an ECHL affiliation agreement with the Trenton Ironhawks. This agreement removes Islanders ECHL affiliation with the Worcester Railers, which has been New York’s ECHL affiliate since 2017.

New York’s new AHL affiliate north of the border also appears to have its identity. According to reports, the Islanders’ relocating affiliate from Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Hamilton, Ontario, will be known as the Hamilton Hammers. The organization is yet to make the branding official, although it is expected that the team’s colors and logo will be unveiled Thursday at TD Coliseum.

The reported ‘Hamilton Hammers’ name lines up with trademark filings that surfaced when the franchise prepared to relocate.
