Yankees Grow Farther Away From Themselves After Latest Uniform Change

The de-Yankeeization of the New York Yankees continues.
For the first time in franchise history, which spans back all the way to 1903, the Yankees will have alternate jerseys. Per MLB, the navy blue batting practice tops are now part of the official Yankees uniform set and have been approved to be worn in games.
New York decided to make way for an alternate jersey after several players advocated for the addition. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton have publicly supported the team adding a navy blue alternate road jersey. The navy blue batting practice jersey says “New York” across the chest and is something that would be worn in select road games.
“I think we’ll always wear the pinstripes at home,” said Yankees captain Aaron Judge.
Overall, the approval had to be made by owner Hal Steinbrenner before sending it to Major League Baseball for the final approval, which was made.
This is just the latest move that the Yankees organization has done in the past three years alone, and overall it is part of a string of alterations that date back nearly a decade.
