New York Knicks fans are built differently. Take that how you want, but it is undeniable that Knicks fans are some of the most passionate fans in all of sports. With the series in Manhattan for Games three and four, it has been hectic.

After a Knicks tight Game 3 loss against the Spurs, we saw parts of the city plunge into mayhem. Knicks fans attacking fellow Knick fans and Knick fans running down Spurs loyalists. Per the NYPD, 21 individuals were taken into custody after a brawl took place at Bryant Park, where there was a Game 3 watch party. Frankly it is sad seeing the behaviour of some Knicks fans, who undoubtedly are making the entire New York fanbase look bad.

The use of pepper spray was used during the Bryant Park brawl, which overall saw eight NYPD officers injured, according to WNBC-TV’s Steven Bognar.

“People climbed on top of scaffolding, light poles, police cars, and NYPD trucks, causing significant damage,” according to NYPD spox. The same report also states how the crowd was throwing glass objects at each other and police officers, along with several people in the crowd ripping trees out of the ground to throw at officers.

Out of the 21 individuals who were taken into custody, 8 were arrested and 13 were released with criminal court summonses. 2 individuals were charged with assault on a police officer.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals will be played on Wednesday in New York with an 8:30 pm tip off time. If needed, Game 6 will be played at MSG. The Knicks lead the Spurs 2-1 in the best-of-7 championship series, just two wins away from their first championship ring in over four decades.
