It was announced in the late hours of Thursday night that New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge suffered a stress fracture on the first rib on his right side rib cage. The fracture will have Judge sidelined with no baseball activity, leading to eventual reevaluation in 4-6 weeks.
In response to the injury news, former New York Jets quarterback Mike White quoted the ESPN announcement on X. White, who started 7 games for the Jets between 2021 and 2022, said, “Just one? Consider yourself lucky brother…”

In 2022, White suffered five fractured ribs after taking a series of brutal hits in what is now an infamous 20-12 loss the Jets suffered against the Buffalo Bills. The majority of White’s hits came from Bills linebacker Matt Milano.

White last played in the regular season in 2024 with Buffalo as Josh Allen’s backup. He recently spent the 2025 season with the Bengals and Panthers, and is currently an unsigned free agent.
Overall, Mike White became a fan favorite quarterback in 2022 by many Jet fans due to him taking over for Zach Wilson, who got benched. White got the starting nod prior to Week 12 against the Chicago Bears, where he would end up completing 22-of-28 passes for 315 yards and 3 touchdowns. White would subsequently pass for 369 yards the following week against the Minnesota Vikings, before taking those hard hits against Buffalo’s pass rush the following week.
