Justin Fields Is A LOT Worse Than We Think

Justin Fields has appeared in all but one game for the Jets, having missed one due to a concussion. Nonetheless Fields is responsible for four losses, which has added up to a 0-5 record.
One of the biggest narratives I have seen thus far this season is that Fields is “not at fault” for New York’s records, with many citing his passing / rushing yards and touchdowns.
Through Field’s four games as a Jet, he has completed a career-high 67% of his passes for 754 yards and 4 touchdowns with no interceptions. Those stats are deceiving on a big apple level.
Looking further into those stats, you will find out that nearly 300 passing yards and 3/4 touchdowns have come exclusively in the fourth quarter alone. These ‘garbage time’ numbers are stat padding Field’s overall season performance. And those bloated stat lines really are in 2/4 games, because Week 2 vs Buffalo, he was removed early in Q4 with a concussion.
Field’s rushing stats are slightly different. Only 35/204 of his rushing yards have come in the fourth, with the majority (81/204) being in the second quarter of games.
The Jets head to London for Week 6, as they still look for the first win of the season.
