Jets Sign 'Thiccer Kicker' Harrison Mevis

The New York Jets have signed Harrison Mevis, who is known as the ‘Thiccer Kicker’ to fans. 

In a corresponding move New York waived kicker Anders Carlson. Carlson was 8-for-10 in field goals and 9-for-11 in extra point attempts last season for the Jets. The move now sets up Mevis competing with rookie Caden Davis for the kicking job.

Mevis was a UDFA and spent the 2024 preseason with the Panthers. The 23-year-old would then find himself on the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions, where he made 95.2% of his field goal attempts in 2025.
