Jacob deGrom May Be Unstoppable In 2022 Season

New York Mets Starting Pitcher Jacob deGrom is coming off of a historic 2021 season, despite injuries deGrom was the best pitcher in Citi Field. 2021 featured a 1.08 ERA through 15 games, all of which he started. In 92-innings flat deGrom struck out 146 batters while only allowing 40 hits, his SO/9 was 14.6 over his time on the mound. Jacob deGrom was on fire, he seemed unstoppable and looked to be almost guaranteed to win the NL CY Young award. In the summer months of 2021 Jacob deGrom fell on the injured list, a stay projected to be just several days to just over a week turned out to end his chances at history.

Jacob deGrom did not even hit 100-innings, he had an MLB work time count of a high performance relief pitcher due to his time not spent on the mound. Despite the little amount of time out on the mound deGrom worked true magic with pure domination. Due to the strong performances Jacob deGrom would come 9th in 2021 CY Young voting, something more than impressive for a player that did not even play half of the season.

If there is a MLB season in 2022 and if Jacob deGrom can stay healthy he will be an automatic contender for CY Young this upcoming season. The future Hall of Famer is already a multi-time award-winning player in that category. With that said the powerful pitcher looks to add to his list with it all starting on opening day.
