Shea Patterson Goes No.1 In 2022 USFL Draft As Generals Get Ben Holmes

The USFL has been absent in the sports world for several decades, now that is no more with a 2022 season kickoff set for mid April. The USFL held its draft starting at 7:00pmEST on Tuesday, February 22nd for the eight teams in its league. The draft was not televised, but USFL teams and the official USFL social media account(s) had updates on the picks.

On the clock to start was the Michigan Panthers who would select Shea Patterson, a Quarterback out of Michigan who has playing time in the CFL. Going to the fourth overall pick fans saw the New Jersey Generals select Quarterback Ben Holmes who went to the Tarleton State college, leading the team to a 23-2 record.

The USFL is set to have its teams draft players from rounds 1-12 Tuesday night, featuring Wednesday night for rounds 13-35 to cap off the draft.
