West Haven’s Gianni Gambardella made his college debut today for the University of Maine, he was almost perfect.
The Bears’ freshman came in via relief for Noah Lewis to start off the sixth inning. Maine was facing Pittsburgh to mark the end to a three-game series set to start off the 2023 season, the series was tied 1-1.
Gambardella would go three innings, striking out four batters to notch the win for Maine. This win puts Maine above .500% at 2-1, as the Connecticut native gives the Bears’ their first series win of 2023.
