Dragons Set Fire to the Devils in 6-3 Rivalry Win

The West Haven Blue Devils went up against the Hamden Dragons yesterday for weekend hockey. The Devils came in looking for their first win of the season as Hamden was looking for their second. This was a game that went back and forth with goal scoring, shaping up to be a classic for what is the longest rivalry in Connecticut high school hockey all up until the final 15 minutes of play. The end of the first featured a 2-1 Hamden lead, going into the second we saw a goal by each side to make it 3-2 with Hamden still leading, now with 15 minutes left it was do or die for the Devils. A Jayden Spreyer goal to make it 4-3 as Hamden scored earlier and that is what the Dragons would keep doing as they would win 6-3.

West Haven is now 0-5 to start the season as last season West Haven was 2-3 after their first five. West Haven goals came from Nico Bruneau (2) along with DJ Carfora (3) and Jayden Spreyer (2) to give West Haven their three points. West Haven looks to rebound on Monday in an away game against Fairfield Co-op.
