West Haven High School Girls Basketball Coach Steve Carden has been named CHSCA (Connecticut High School Coaches Association) Assistant Coach of The Year. Coach Carden led the Junior Varsity team as Head Coach while being the Assistant Coach of the Varsity team, he is also one of several coaches for the West Haven High School Baseball team. The award was presented on April 26th, 2022 after West Haven’s dominant season with a 17-3 regular season record.
Amani Abuhatab also won an award presented by the CHSCA as she went All-State for the Class LL division for girls basketball. Amani was top three in scoring this season, a true threat in the paint and at the line as her Senior season is now on the horizon.
