Can anyone stop the New York Islanders? The Islanders are currently 16-3-1 with 33 points, 2nd in the Metropolitan Division behind the 16-4-4 Capitals. The Islanders score an average of 3 points per game (PPG) with a 16 game point streak, a new franchise record as they beat the Penguins in back to back OT games also extending their win streak to 5 games. One of the biggest things for the Islanders is goaltending, they have great goaltending allowing around 2 goals per game good enough to rank fourth in the NHL.
The Islanders having a great start to the season as they are looking more and more like a playoff threat, and I can see it has they have a stacked roster. Now will they be the champions? I'm not sure but if they keep it up the Islanders can make it to the finals.
