The New York Yankees dominated the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night, dethroning KC and taking their crown all in nine innings of baseball. A 15-1 blowout Yankees win was fitting for captain Aaron Judge’s 1,200th game in the majors.

New York made quick work of the Royals pitching staff, running up four in the first inning alone. Overall, The Yankees scored at least once on all five pitchers that Kansas threw at them. It was a slaughter, it was purely dominant, and it was historic.

New York recorded 24 hits, but it is what the lineup did as a whole that made a random Tuesday night in May historic for the Yankees. All nine batters in New York’s lineup who started the game recorded two or more hits, marking the first time in the franchise’s 125 year history that all nine starters had multiple hits in a game.

Amed Rosario led the way with a 4-for-6, 2 home run night. $22 million dollar man Trent Grisham notched three hits with one going yard. Ben Rice, Anthony Volpe and Austin Wells also recorded three hits in the overall offensive clinic. Aaron Judge’s 1,200th game featured a 2-for-3 day with 2 walks and an RBI.

The Yankees improved to 33-22, with the Royals mirroring and falling to 22-33 on the season.
