Earlier this week the Buffalo Bills invited quarterback Brady OIson to rookie mini camp. This invite came almost immediately after the 7th round of the 2026 NFL Draft ended. Overall, Buffalo’s nine draft selections didn’t see a quarterback get a call from the only New York based football team.

Olson, a graduate of FCS Division I Central Connecticut State University, passed for 3,132 yards last season with a 25-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio. The 6-foot-4 standing Olson threw for 7,307 yards and 52 touchdowns throughout a five-year collegiate career. Olson also gained 425 yards on the ground with 5 more touchdowns.
The Bills quarterback room post-draft is all-but set heading into the 2026/27 season. Josh Allen, barring any mishap, will be the Week 1 starter. Kyle Allen is listed as the Bills QB2 with Super Bowl champion Shane Buechele as QB3. If Olson survives rookie minichamp and isn’t cut, he would likely put up a decent bid against Buechele or contend for a possible practice squad placement.
Buffalo did use one of their nine selections on a fellow Connecticut college player. The Bills selected UConn wideout Skyler Bell in the fourth round at pick 125. Bell was the only FBS player to finish in the top five last season for receptions, receiving yards and touchdown catches. Overall, Bell’s 833 yards after catch last season was the second-most in the FBS. Drafting Bell addresses Buffalo’s wide receiver room with a player who can easily slot into a true WR2 or even a WR3 if needed.
