Deivi Garcia has been DFA’d by the New York Yankees organization. This move is due to Jonathan Loaisiga being reinstated from the 60-day IL.
The righty posted a 1.59 ERA through 5.2 innings this season in the Majors, appearing in two games. In triple-AAA this season Garcia has posted a 5.67 ERA through 46 innings. It is expected that the former Yankees’ star will go back to the RailRiders.
Garcia found himself in the hearts of Yankee fans during the 2020 season. From August 30th to September 15th, Garcia started 4 games and posted a 3.28 ERA in 24.2 innings while going 3-1 in that span. Overall he would carry a 4.98 once the 2020 offseason hit.
Nevertheless, Garcia is only 24-years-old and will still remain on New York's 40-man if he goes back to SWB.
