United States vs Iran Is The Most Dividing Soccer Match Of The Decade

The U.S. v Iran matchup is one of the most anticipated soccer matches of the decade, with both teams jockeying for the second and final spot in their group. Iran currently holds the transfer spot with a 1-0-1 record and 3-points. The United States are the first team out, sitting p3 with 2-points and a 0-2-0 record. The Americans face Iran today and hold the tiebreaker via the goal differential if the game is won.

The United States and Iran have history both on and off the field. Military tensions have been high for decades with the never-ending possibility of war and the last time these two teams faced each other in the World Cup came back in 1998, with that Iranian-American fans divided when it comes to this sporting matchup.

Iranian U.S. citizen Khalil Ghassemzadeh said, “I’m very confused.” While also saying, “It’s really a national pride for both countries. I’m going to watch it and not root for anyone and hope for the best team to win.”

The United States has a 0-1-1 record against Iran as they will play their third-ever match today at 2:00pmEST.
