Question-Mark Looms Over New Haven With QB1 Daelen Menard's Ankle Injury

Just several minutes into play during the first quarter on Saturday, New Haven QB1 Daelen Menard fell victim to an apparent ankle injury.

Menard would be taken out of the game and later seen fully out of uniform with a walking boot on.

The Boston College transfer dealt with a reported lower-body injury during Week 5, which kept him sidelined through the entire game.

Despite the walking boot Menard was seen smiling and interacting with teammates during the 38-0 blowout win over Lincoln.

New Haven uses a turf field and it was still wet from the previous day’s rain. Turf fields have gotten bad reps in the NFL over the past 4 years due to them causing multiple torn/ruptured achilles.

Chargers fans are holding their breaths hoping that is not the injury Menard has received.

Daelen Menard is 53/112 (47.3%) passing this season with 726 yards and 11 touchdowns, which rank 2nd in the NE10.

Overall, there has been no official update released by the University of New Haven Football, at the time of this article. If Menard’s status for Week 7 is released, then this article will be updated.

New Haven is set to face Saint Anselm on October 14th, for their homecoming / Week 7 game.
