Nick Conlan brought West Haven on a nine game winning streak last season along with a playoff appearance. The sophomore QB1 has led the Blue Devils varsity team since his freshman campaign.
Going into upperclassman-hood, Conlan sports a 16-2 regular season record with 1,643 passing yards off of a 59.1cmp% and a 23-3 TD-INT line.
2022 was a breakout season for Conlan, who posted a stat line through 11 games (10 reg., 1 playoff) of: 97/159 (61%), 1,399 PY (14.4 AVG), 19-3 TD-INT with a 121.3 QBR.
With those stat lines the Westie has been ranked as the #4 quarterback in Connecticut for the class of 2025 along with being the #11 ranked quarterback in New England, per Prep Redzone.
West Haven moves back up to the Tier I ranks for 2023 and with that they will face tougher opponents. The move-up news is shadowed by the fact that the program is losing over 20 players due to graduation. Blue Devils football will need a leader under center and Nick Conlan is that guy.
The youngster still has not come anywhere close to the ceiling and will only get better. His football IQ is extremely good considering that he is not even a junior yet. West Haven may have a very special player in their program. It is just a matter of how much longer he be playing in a Blue Devils uniform.
