The New York Mets have interviewed New York Yankees bench coach Carlos Mendoza for their managerial position.
Mendoza is the first candidate known to have had a formal interview with the Mets; Craig Counsell was reported to have drawn interest from New York, but is still yet to be interviewed by the Mets organization.
43-year-old Mendoza has worked as the Yankees’ bench coach since 2019, but has history with the Yanks’ dating back to 2009 when he managed in their minor league system.
