The New York Mets minor league Triple-AAA affiliate Syracuse Mets, are set to change their name for 2027. Mets GM Jason Smorol said “we feel that it is the right time to usher in a new era of Syracuse Baseball” as the team is set to begin their 150th year of professional baseball in 2026.
Despite undergoing a name change that will be ultimately decided by fans, the Mets will keep their orange and royal blue colors that resemble their major league counterpart. Overall, the Syracuse Mets will remain as New York’s Triple-AAA affiliate at least through 2030. Syracuse has been New York’s affiliate since 2018.
