Mets Have Been Home To Pin-Stripped Yankees In 2023
Within a month two former Yankees have been signed by the New York Mets, Gary Sanchez and Luke Voit.
Both signings came on the free agent line, with New York sending the pin-stripped players to their AAA affiliate, the Syracuse Mets.
As we all know now Gary Sanchez is on the San Diego Padres, hitting a .255 with 6 home runs. His very short time with the Mets though was something a little different.
The apple never rose for Sanchez, in his three games played he only hit .167 and had a .310 OPS.
Luke Voit went from hitting .333 in 2018 for the Bronx Bombers to having a .239 average in 2021, which would end up being his final season on the team.
Voit is a power hitter who had a fast rise to a very injury riddled fall. Since his Yankees’ stay he has called three different teams home, the Mets now being his fourth.
Through just one game so far with Syracuse, Voit is 1-for-5 with a home run.
