Mets Can't Resist Former Yankees In Recent Signings

Updated: Jan 11

The New York Mets should rebrand to the Yankees with the way the organization has taken their Bronx counterpart talent over the recent seasons. At the making of this article the Mets have already acquired two former Yankees this offseason.

Though two moves isn’t a lot, it’s still a little unusual seeing the Mets piggyback off of fallen pin-stripped Yankees.

Harrison Bader and Luis Severino are the two Bronx additions the Mets have made. Meanwhile, former Yankees Adam Ottavino and Tim Locastro are the offseason subtractions

Both Bader and Sevy are coming off of career-worst seasons, so the Mets did in fact acquire project players. If either doesn’t perform up to par then New York will be fast to move them. For the Mets, contracts are not necessarily an issue as both signed neutral player-team deals.
