Dominic Konareski made his Sodi Series debut tonight with a heavy heart as he would start off p1 on the grid. Konareski would lead the first lap till he got bumped out of position. In an interview Dominic said "The #9 bumped me going into turn 11, which led me to go wide, congrats to him though on the win, I am happy we were able to run against him for the time we did."
On lap 5 after battling bumper-to-bumper with the #14, the driver, Steve N. would spin going in the hairpin turn in front of Konareski and the whole field. A yellow would not come out as the race continued on, Konareski would then run in second before hitting the wall several laps later where he was passed going out of turn 12. "I was running good and wanted to try to go for the fastest lap and just did not brake soon enough."
Konareski would finish on the podium, third place, 2.8 seconds back on the leader in what was a very impressive debut race "We exceeded all expectations, a podium...Wow!" "I am taken back, I wanna thank God for this!" "This podium is for you Walt!" 'I wanna thank my sponsors for believing in me, I'm gunna give them a lot more good finishes"
