Islanders Look To Take Playoff Series Lead In The Steel City

The New York Islanders are shaping up to play their fifth game against the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at 7:00pm EST. The Penguins are hosting the Islanders tonight after a 4-1 lost in their most recent matchup allowing New York to tie the series. In the last ten games the Penguins have gone 7-2-1, averaging 3.7 goals and 5.6 assists per game. For the Islanders they have averaged 2.9 goals and 4.9 assists after going 4-4-2 in their last ten.

The biggest thing you have to look at though is save percentage, the Islanders have a .930sv% as the Penguins only have a .908sv% in their last ten played. Most likely we will see Ilya Sorokin get the start after almost shutting out the Penguins last game, the young goalie is playing like a seasoned vet. Tristan Jarry is the projected starting goalie for the Penguins after he went 25-9-3 in the regular season with a .909sv%, allowing just under three goals a game.

This will be a very intense game, most likely we will have overtime hockey once again between these two teams. I do see the Islanders winning though 4-3 via shootout.
