Henrik Tikkanen has been, for lack of better words, ‘interesting’ so far to begin his Bridgeport Islanders tenure.
The Fin was selected in the seventh round (214th overall) by New York in 2020. Now, the 24-year-old has gotten a true taste of the AHL, appearing in 18 games last season and already racking up 15 appearances for 2024/25.
Despite putting up an excellent 2.10 GAA with an 8-6-2 record in 2023/24 that had a .930 sv% accompany the stat line, Tikkanen has struggled heavily this season.
In 15 games, the 6-foot-8 goaltender has posted a 5.06 GAA while currently holding a 3-10-0 record with an .839 sv%.
So, with what is the basic equivalent to a full-season played in a total of 33 games, Tikkanen has posted a combined stat line consisting of 795 saves, 3.58 GAA with an .845 sv% and a record of 11-16-2.
