Considering that there have been 653 different players to throw at least one pitch for the New York Mets, it is easy to forget who a few were that did. Rob Zastryzny is no exception to that.
Zastryzny currently resides on the Milwaukee Brewers, where he is yet to allow a run through five appearances this season. It was a completely different story though for his time on the Mets, although it was quite short.
And by short I mean just a single game with one full inning pitched.

In November of 2021, the New York Mets signed the free agent lefty to a minor league deal. The Mets sent Zastryzny to their Triple-AAA club. To which he stayed there until August 20th, 2022.
The southpaw made his Mets debut during the 7th inning vs the Phillies. Zastryzny faced four batters, striking out one while also allowing an earned run off a hit. The Mets would lose in Philly, 4-1.
New York would then option Zastryzny back to AAA Syracuse on August 21st, and would DFA him one day later.
Zastryzny would then be claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Angels, where he would finish the 2022 season with.
Overall, Rob Zastryzny’s Mets career was a short one in the majors which saw a 9.00 ERA in just a single inning pitched. Zastryzny is just one of 33 players to pitch an inning or less in a Mets uniform.
