Josh Allen is a top five quarterback in the league, that is undeniable. He is one of the most clutch and consistent flamethrowers the league has seen since the turn of the decade, but that is only in the regular season.
Josh Allen is 8-7 in the playoffs fresh out of an overtime defeat where the winning team’s quarterback won’t even play next week due to a season-ending injury. Another disappointing season for Allen and the Bills ends at the hands of his own doing.

This morning the Buffalo Bills fired head coach Sean McDermott after nine seasons at the helm. The 33-30 OT loss against Denver was the final straw, but could it also be the final straw for Josh Allen too?
The majority of the NFL fanbase would kill to see their team be a constant playoff contender and comfortably make the playoffs. Josh Allen is one of the winningest quarterbacks in Bills playoff history, but he is also one of the most unfortunate with those seven losses. I don’t believe that the Bills will move on from Allen, as it makes sense to have a coaching change.
Being a head coach in football is entirely different from coaching or managing in basketball, baseball and hockey. A football head coach dictates every play. Yes, there are times where Allen looks completely lacking in talent, but it is the playcalling that got him in that situation.
Buffalo has a great O-line and a solid D-line, now they need to find the correct coaching piece to complete the puzzle.
McDermott finishes his Bills’ tenure making the playoffs 8-out-of-9 seasons and sporting a 98-50 (.662%) record, which is 15th-best in NFL history.
With John Harbaugh joining the Giants, the Bills still have options in Mike McCarthy, Kevin Stefanski and Mike McDaniel to name a few.
