After completing his fourth season in the NFL, Bailey Zappe has joined a new team.
Originally selected by New England in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Zappe has appeared in 15 games with nine coming as a starter. The 26-year-old right-handed slinger has a 4-5 record and overall has thrown 12 touchdowns to 14 interceptions with 2,223 passing yards.
Zappe became a Patriots fan favorite as he outplayed the inconsistent Mac Jones on numerous occasions. Bailey Zappe now finds himself back in the AFC East after signing a futures deal with the New York Jets.
Throughout this 2025/26 season the Jets have had quite a quarterback room, which now features a total of six different QBs throughout various points. Zappe joins the likes of Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, Brady Cook, Hendon Hooker, Adrian Martinez. The Jets, despite not having any games left this season after a 3-14 record, did name Zappe as the team’s fourth-string quarterback behind Hooker.
It's expected that New York will part ways with Justin Fields this offseason, and with uncertainty looming around Tyrod Taylor as well the Jets may temporally have a quarterback room consisting of Cook, Hooker and Zappe temporally.
