The SCC Girls Basketball Players of the Year and Coach of the Year has been announced along with the first and second team for All-SCC, and West Haven has multiple names on the list. Before the SCC Championship game between Sacred Heart and Daniel Hand the award-winning players and coach were honored by receiving the award. The powerful duo of Amani Abuhatab and Kassidy Carrano shined this season, being top two in team scoring Abuhatab gets Player of the Year along with 1st Team All-SCC and Carrano going 1st Team All-SCC. West Haven Blue Devils Head Coach Jessica Moriarty got Coach of the Year. The Blue Devils went 17-3 in the regular season to give them the fifth seed in the SCC playoffs, the team would blowout Foran and upset Hamden as they would lose in the semifinals to Scared Heart who would end up winning the championship. West Haven is now gearing up for the CIAC Girls Basketball Tournament as March Madness approaches. The Blue Devils will face the New Canaan Rams Monday night for a first-round home game.
