Yankees To Play In October
Updated: May 18
The New York Yankees will be playing October ball for the fourth year straight as they clinch a playoff berth despite a lost yesterday to the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees who are 31-22 with a .585 wp% currently sit second place in the AL East with a four-game-lead over the Toronto Blue Jays who are in third. The Yankees have had a very up and down season with injuries and what was a lack of performance, many thought the season was over with until they went on a ten game winning streak which revived their season and gave them hope. With seven games left of the season it is possible for the Bronx Bombers to overtake the Rays for first place in the standings, currently they sit 3.5 games back.
The Yankees need to succeed in October as time is running out for them to win a World Series, the last time they did was in 2009! The Yankees have had a WS winning team the last three years but have only gone as far as the ALCS.
