The New York Yankees have been swept by the Houston Astros in four games in the ALCS. With that the Astros make their fourth World Series appearance in six years as the Yankees have yet to go back to the big game since 2009. The ALCS series loss makes the Yankees 5-6 in the series dating back to 1998, their overall playoff game record is 106-85 (.627%).
The Yankees have a 1253-852 (.852%) regular season record since their last WS trip/appearance (NYY have gone 32-41 in playoff games since the '09 WS). Under Brian Cashman the team has gone 2324-1623 (.588%) since he took over the GM spot in 1998. Many are calling for Cashman to be fired as the Yankees continue to disappoint in the postseason despite constantly putting up 90+ win regular seasons.
