The New York Yankees are 12-7 and sit atop of a power-filled AL East. Despite their early-season triumphs, the Yankees have lost multiple battles with food poisoning, posting an 0-2 record.
Cody Bellinger ate a bad batch of chicken wings in Detroit; and now Austin Wells is sidelined for tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Rays, as now he has gotten food poisoning.
The Yankees will now be without their star catcher for at least two or three games I would imagine. Overall, Wells is batting a .182 through 117 games this season.
